
My goal with animation is to make a finished piece that is lively, engaging, and entertaining. Hand-drawn or photographed subjects tell a story and delight the viewer. All of the projects below were designed, photographed, retouched, and edited into animations using After Effects and Photoshop.

Quick Pickles
Here is one more project for Edible East Bay. the publisher wanted a project for Quick Pickles to show the beauty and variety for an eBook that is distributed to subscribers and website visitors.


Social media projects
To illustrate the items left on Trader Joe’s shelves after Covid19 hoarding plus a fun-spirited dessert based on childhood. The title of the dessert is Dirt and Worms and it consists of pudding, oreo cookies, and gummy worms.

Products used: Trader Joe’s gummy worms and sandwich cookies, home made pudding, paper from Flax, Oakland, props from the Shed in Healdsburg.

Birthday Card

Process: Art direction and complementary RGB color palette, sketch on paper, photograph cake plate, Illustrator vector drawing, animate in After Effects, output to MP4 and Gif.


This project is for a website for the private equity company Swander Pace Capital, San Francisco, CA, to make new hero animations for each division of their company. The goal is to replace existing stock photography images with images of the brands in their portfolio. I worked directly with the Principal, Rob Vassel and Marketing Director, Amparo Calderon.
The process from start to finish: mood board, words, brand strategy, art direction, set design with test images, prop and product styling, photography with Phase One and Capture One, photo retouching, animation in Photoshop, file output to Gif and MP4. Output MP4 as optimized for fast website loading with jpeg poster images.
This project illustrates the depth and breadth of the client’s brand portfolio through six different consumer packaged goods divisions.
Here is a screen shot of the “before” website. The company did a great job as a group finding stock images several years ago but now it is time to update the look that shows the depth of their expertise and the highly regarded brands in their portfolio.
